No frills but great for the money
Same MAIN manufacturer as our old unit which lasted over 20 years. Installed easily. Came with heat trap water fittings preinstalled and water line insulation kit. Old water heater had red light on side to let you know if water temperature was correct. This unit doesn't have a feature like that. We did have HOT! water within 40 minutes of powering up unit. Old model water heater had 3500 watt heating elements. This and MOST newer models have 4500 watt or bigger. I needed to upgrade my breaker from 20 amp to 30 amp. Wiring will also need to be 10/2 gauge.

Great unit for a great price
Very impressed with this unit. Not only was it affordable, it was a simple and quick to install. The hot water pressure on this new unit was as good as the water heater it replaced. I am extremely satisfied with this product.

This product was easy to install.
Our original water heater sprung a leak in the tank. The water heater was in stock at Lowes. We purchased, brought it home, installed it and within 2 hrs had hot water. I had never replaced a water heater before but it was easy to install. The only issue I had was the original water heater wouldn't drain so had to move a full water heater.

I replaced my old Whirlpool water heater which lasted at least ten years with this one. I was quite satisfied with the old one and if you have a well like I do, ten years is considered a long life.
I did have a slight leak because I didn't tighten the cold water inlet fitting enough, (I was afraid of stripping it) I tightened it down really tight and that solved the problem. One thing I would recommend would be to have a removable collar where the inlet
and outlet fittings area. If you have a leak during installation or later, water can flow into and soak the insulation around the fittings. When installing the unit, it is a good idea to have a towel around these areas when you pressure test it to catch water if there is a leak.

Look and ease of use with this water heater is impressive. I like the fact that access to the thermostat is so simple and easy to use. The manual that came with the water heater is clear, concise, and easy to understand. I have always been a fan of Whirlpool products.
