50 Gallon Electric Water Heater - E1F50RD045V
3rd time around and not by choice
purchased this model the end of 2006, in january 2011 heating element went out. Was replaced under warranty then again in august 2011 element goes out again this time being told to replace the heater which was also covered under warranty however after getting the new heater it voided the warranty. That heater only lasted 3 years almost to the date and started leaking around the element casing causing my basement to flood. After taking the cover for the element off the element was all charcoaled and looked as though it had caught fire. Unfortunately our local hardware store only stocks whirlpool and because of having children in the home we did not have time to wait so this is now our 3rd heater in 8 years. Do not recommend this product to anyone.

I bought our 1st whirlpool water heater 4 years ago. I had no complaints until it sprung a leak the other day- as a single mom i was overwhelmed with the prospect of buying a new heater and also having it installed. I called the warranty center and to my amazement, they gave me a new water heater- no charge... love how they stand behind their product!!! This made this so much more bearable- thank you!!

This product has one problem that needs to be corrected
When taking a shower, the water goes through periods of hot to cold and back to hot. The heater is less than ten feet from the shower. The installation was performed by the son of a plumbing shop owner! Recommendation: Perhaps, if a partial, semi-circle coil of pipe with the end slightly elevated, for the incoming water, was placed at the bottom of the heater, it would not only keep sediment from forming in the bottom of the tank but, it would also stir the water when it was being used, keeping it from forming layers of hot and cold water (we have two whole house filters and a soft water conditioner - no sediment). The only other solution would be to use three heating elements.

This product was easy to install
Easily installed and so far it is working good. The only issue I had was the water heater is short and I had to extend all of the pipes to fit it into place, but overall it was not hard to install.

Having the T and P valve on the side made for a trip to the hardware store for extra fittings and pipe. Otherwise it was easy to install and get into hot water.

Whirlpool Water Header Model E1F50RD045V
We purchased the Whirlpool Water Header Model E1F50RD045V to replace our old water heater that had rotted through the bottom.
It came highly recommended from a friend of the family after they had replaced their water heater.
The water heater was packaged up very protective, taking into consideration that it would need to be moved by the owner and not shipped.
It was easy to install and set-up, we had it changed out in less that 45 minutes.
The only problem I found that was slightly annoying, is that the plastic hole protectors for the water in and water out lines were about 3 inches long, which made it harder and longer to remove them.
For the price and all it was well worth it!

This hot water heater took up less space even though it is 50 gallon tank. It installed easy and the energy rating is very good.
