Good product but. . . . . . . Good water heater, but I have had 2 of these now & you can just about set your watch by when its going to start leaking. If it has a 6 year tank warranty, you better be looking for a new water heater in 5 years & 11.5 months from date of purchase, because no more than a few weeks after that 6 years is up you will need a new water heater. Guaranteed. Hey, that's what the warranty says, & you will get what it promises. As for me though, instead of paying another $288 (was $199 6 years ago) for one of these at Lowes, This time I decided to go with a Rheem TankLess Water Heater. I went with a Model RTE-13 at a cost of $189 with a 10 year warranty & it supplies and endless amount of hot water & saves money on your electric bill too. Kind of a no brainer to me, just wish I would have done it 6 years ago. March 24, 2014
Easy to install Easy to install and good quality product. Instruction easy to follow March 2, 2014
no problem in installing unit no noise when running. that was a bonus surprise. haven't had it long enough to know if we will save on electicity bill February 28, 2014
I need hot water and this gives me the hot water I need! I found that I had to raise the thermostat up a scoshe. There's only two of us and we were each taking a shower at the same time. I found the hot water was starting to run out sooner than I would expect. Other than that, I look forward to more and longer hot showers, hot water for the dish washer and laundry. February 20, 2014
This is the second heater in 40+ years We changed to electric heaters several years ago after remodeling. Whirlpool was the brand carried by Lowe's and still is. The previous heater served well and we hope this one will also. February 17, 2014
LOVE THE OPTIONS THE H/W HEATER CONNECTED WITH NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. HAD A HARD TIME FINDING THE RIGHT SIZE, IT IS IN A CLOSET, THIS ONE WAS 2' HIGHER AND 3' DIA. SMALLER BUT THE SAME 30 GALLON CAPACITY AND FIT JUST RIGHT . WIRING WAS EASY. EVERYTHING WENT GREAT. THE GUY A LOWES WAS A GREAT HELP FINDING THIS HEATER. WHIRLPOOL HAS BEEN HERE A LONG TIME AND I KNOW THIS HAS TO BE A GREAT PRODUCT. MY OLD H/W HEATER LASTED 18 YEARS,DID"NT LEAK BUT WHY CHANCE IT. I'LL SEE IF THIS HOLDS UP ANOTHER 18YRS. SEE YOU THEN,(I HOPE?) January 14, 2014
using a smaller unit, time will tell down graded to a 30gal from a 50gal unit. Waiting to see how the smaller units works. January 7, 2014
Reliable product Like every home owner, one of the worst things that can happen to us is to wake up, on a Monday, to discover your 9 year old water heater has failed. Luckily mine was sitting in a pan, so my home was not damaged. So I dreaded having to deal with replacing the rusted leaking thing. But the people at Lowe's and Whirlpool made my decision and purchase a breeze. And with a variety of models to choose from, Whirlpool made finding a replacement for me easy. After 20+ years doing apartment maintenance, I have come to rely on Whirlpool products. Now I have them in my own home. January 3, 2014
This product has nice features This is the 2nd heater (Whirlpool) purchased, hopefully it last longer than the previous one. basically I am rating the old heater, both elements corroded and leaked after less than 5 years, so we will see what this one does. I did not remember registering the old one, so am out of luck on any warranty. December 31, 2013
