Nice design; reasonable price.
Just got this from Lowe's and had it installed. Too early to tell whether it will hold up well or not. But I'm optimistic based on reading other reviews and recommendation from family member.

Affordable and Easy to Install
I haven't had any problems with it and it's been 5 months now. It was affordable and my brother installed it by easily reading the directions. He did something wrong during installation (he read something wrong) and had blown something out on it but the part was accesible over the counter at Lowe's and we didn't have to get a whole new one. I think that was great.

Good so far!
Took about an hour to install in my basement. Standard connections. Had to purchase nipples separately they were not in the unit. The brand new Rich---d unit it just replaced had nipples installed but also came with a factory LEAK in the tank! Due to limited space in my basement (it's a 45 inch high basement/crawl) I had to purchase this low profile tank and we will see how it performs over time. So far I have hot water and all seems well. Thanks Whirlpool for testing this tank and making sure it was leak free from the factory. Much appreciated!!!! Jim...

Drain is too low.
The drain is so low that the heater won't fit into a pan worth a hoot. It crushes the edge of the pan. I won't install a heater without a pan and pan drain so this was a real pain. The case needs to be a little longer at the bottom then the drain can be in the same location on the tank but will exit the case higher up so a heater pan can be used. The other design features were OK. The other thing that was troublesome is the relief was already tightened and I needed it turned another direction. Since I did not want to break the seal or the relief (which usually negates the warranty) I was forced to buy a bunch of extra fittings to route the relief line to my existing vent line.

I like this lowboy, first one I have used.
This is the first time every having a lowboy hot water heat. It was easy to install. When installing have all your tools ready and be finish in about 30 minutes. I had all the air out of the lines and hot water within the hour.

whirlpool water heater
I needed a water heater replaced quick as the current one developed a leak. I looked online at the different ones offered by the local hardware stores and saw the whirlpool, bought it and installed it. So far the unit is working perfectly. It has a good design. I would have preferred that the pressure relief valve had been located on top instead of the front as that location takes away from the "looks" of the unit but I can live with that.
