A quality product.
As with all things mechanical it will not last forever.But I built this house in 1975 and have never used any thing but Whirlpool water heaters.I like em.

Gentle Giant
This water heater is built with so much beauty and features that anyone would be proud to show this Gentle Giant off!! Very quiet and its inside heating elements are both made of stainless steel. I am so glad that I compared its features against others before purchasing it. One thing I might add is that I changed the connection fittings and drain valve to brass (my new puppy loves to chew)!!

I love the look of the Silver & Black Hotwater Heater
If you have to have big item sitting in view in your basement where it can be seen it is so nice to be given the option to purchase this sleek silver/black one as opposed to the white/black one. The digital settings make it so nice. You can set it on vacation mode when you are away. I am excited to see how this Energy Star product saves on our electric bill in the coming month. The installation process was so quick and the water heated up very quickly. Thank you for this fine product.

Relief Valve
Only after a couple hours of installation the relief valve discharged a couple pints of water but none the following 12 hours.

required electrical upgrade
replaced a 40 gallon for a 40 gallon but ended up having to upgrade my wire and double up my breaker as the element went from a 3000 to 4500 which maxed out my 20 amp breaker at 18 amps. Max load is 16. Wish there was some forewarning and not the surprise at the end of installation.
