Easy to use
Replaces an 18 year old water heater of a different brand. The technology is remarkable. The status lights and automatic pilot provide an added level of safety and piece of mind. These features and the electric damper combine to give an efficient and state of the art appliance. Efficient, quiet and beautiful too look at! ( My friends are jealous). This is truly a fantastic piece of American innovation and technology.

Very easy to install, set up and start
My initial reaction is very positive. I have purchased and installed other products (State, Maytag) over the past 25 years.
I found the Whirlpool easy to install and a snap to get up and running. I find the electric start to be the biggest improvement for ease of operation.
The 12-year warranty is an added value. I hope it lasts at least that long. It is too early to tell if it will lower my energy bill.

I like the efficiency of it
The water heater looks great, was easy to install and like the electronic ignition. Was installed and worked right away. The only thing is the price - the cost is slighty high - but like that it is warrantied for 12 years. Would recommend unit to others.

Good price for high efficiency
I was torn between buying a tankless unit and a normal water heater. Then I found this unit that is high enough efficiency to get a rebate from the gas company. Very pleased with the ease of installation. Worked straight away without issue. Do wish they had included the little water pipe connectors though. Had to make a second trip to the hardware store to get them just before closing time...

I love this water heater
This thing looks like the space shuttle down in the basement. It has lots of new features such as an electric ignition and a sensor that shuts it off if there is flammable gas around the unit. Our family of four now enjoys hot water all the time - it's really improved the quality of our life! Highly recommend.

This product is efficient, and recovers very fast. Very hot water.
We have been able to set the thermostat on the heater lower as the water seems hotter and the recovery is very fast. I like the electronic ignition feature and believe this will save money over the life of the unit. I also like the fact that there is a flue damper installed. The unit looks good as well.

Exceeded expectations
I'm no novice, but not a professional plumber. This was an amazingly easy installation! There's NO pilot, so it literally started itself. You DO need A/C power close by....not a problem....you just plug it in and the ignition computer takes it from there. I was shocked at the rapid heat up of new water. Thank the high BTU rating for that. It's heavy....get a helper! But the "heft" hints at quality, which is obvious when you uncrate it. Easy install....a self-starter....and rapid hot water. All that is lacking is an onboard thermometer telling you the water temp, onboard. Other than that, with a twelve year warranty, I don't see how you could do better for the money.

Wish we had bought a new water heater sooner
Our old water heater was 21 years old when it went out. I wish it had gone out a lot sooner so we could have replaced it with this water heater. It is just amazing getting to take a shower and having warm water the whole time. We had to turn the heat setting down 3 times to get it to the right temperature. We had are old water heater on the highest setting of warmth and still couldn't have enough warm water to finish a shower.
