I like Whirlpool.
Its Whirlpool. I had good luck with Whirlpool. Washer, Dryer, Dishwasher, Fridge. All over 20 years and still running good.

Time will tell ?
My original AO Smith lasted 16 yrs. So Time will tell. I bought this at Lowes, and then did the research. Quite frankly the reviews of whirlpool water heaters frightened me and made me almost cancel the purchase and installation. But it was being installed same day, and hopefully the "redesigned' or "upgraded" parts have fixed the problems that people have had in the past. The install was professional from a Lowes contractor. The water is nice and evenly hot. Too early to tell about quality, and if there are any problems, Whirlpool had better step up to the plate, because the reviews of their customer service are horrid too.
Crossing our fingers for 12 yrs.

The pilot light keep giong out and I have to relight it every day
Customer service was very helpful. Hope to get the pilot light problem fix soon.

good product, not so best quality check
the surface of the water heater came with a minor scratch wich was only touch instead of full repaint, however the the water heater itself works well and it sits in the garage so it really didnt warrant to send it back for a new one.

After looking at several brands made the decision to buy this product because of the look, electronic pilot light system, the price and the 12 year warranty.

Fair price for size of unit
Whirlpool provided detailed instructions on installation and operation. It was easy to install water heater once I made minor modifications as I was upgrading from a 40 gal. to a 50 gal. unit.

Has many nice features...
Modern design and install was a breeze. Seems like a solid unit with hi-tech control module. 12 yrs warranty for tank and parts. Time will tell.

This Water heater has different feetures then the old style water heater
Nice water heater ,easy to install. Will be
interseting to see if the water heater and it's parts hold up over time, and how good the American Water Heaters Customer service is
if the water heater needs replacement parts durring the warranty period of 12 years.
