The Whirlpool water heater is the latest and the greatest!
We had the 50 gal. water heater installed because I new there would be some new code requirements. Sure enough our area requires a pressure re-leaf tank that the plumber didn't even know about. Everything went well and we are good for another 10+ years.

Nice water heater
The installation was easy (need 2 people to lift onto platform). I like the automatic lighting and monitoring/diagnostic feature. Had to get used to the color, as I was always used to white, but it looks good. Had hot water approx. 30-45 min. after install.

Water heater
Great water heater. Replaced 20 year State Water heater. It would have been nice if this heater came with basic fittings..

This has great features for the money.
I have just had this unit installed and I am hoping it will save me money. From all the information I was able to gather I think it will. It is a nice looking unit and from reading about it I think it will be easy to use. It was quick to install and we were only out of water for about 45 minutes. I also chose it because of its Energy Star qualification.

More modern features needed
With the high price I paid for, I wish there are more modern features added to the water heater. Digital monitoring of usage and efficiency.

So far, so good
Came home to a leaking 9 year old Rheem waterheater that actually past its 6 year life expectancy, so went to lowes and got the 12 year whirlpool for a bit over $700. Got it home and opened it up and was suprised to find that it was a bronze color, whatever, its a water heater, not a piece of furniture right? Wife actually liked the color. It was relativly easy to install, only issue was the hot water heat trap nipple had to be wrenched down extremely tight and i mean to the point of it felt like i was going to strip the threads. After all nice and tight I hooked up the gas line, filled the tank and it fired in about 60 clicks of the pilot ignition button (it says it takes about 90 clicks). So far its going good, wife was happy to have hot water this morning before work. Install took about three hours and I am no plumming expert, just a jack of all trades.

well insulated
I like the shut-off feature in the chiminey and the filter concept on the lower portion of the unit.
